City Manager's Office
Though the city manager is appointed by City Council, the City Manager's Office is made up of non-political employees much like any other office. The employees in the City Manager's Office oversee city operations and processes while acting as a clearinghouse for information both requested by and submitted to City Council.
The City Manager's Office exists to keep the city running, regardless of who wins an election.
City Manager Dale A. Fisseler, P.E.
Dale Fisseler was named Fort Worth's 22nd city manager in December 2007.
Fisseler joined the City of Fort Worth in 1990 as a water production superintendent after eight years of service with Dallas Water Utilities. He was named director of the City of Fort Worth’s Water Department in 1999. The department provides water and wastewater service to approximately 850,000 Fort Worth water customers in Tarrant County.
Fisseler was appointed assistant city manager in charge of Fort Worth’s Economic & Community Development, Housing, Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE), and Development Services departments in 2004. His area of responsibility included Workforce Development, Economic Diversification, the Business Assistance Center, Tech Fort Worth, the Women’s Business Center, and the Fort Worth International Center.
A licensed professional engineer, Fisseler serves on the Texas Municipal League and the Texas A&M Civil Engineering Advisory Board. He is a member of the University of Texas at Arlington Civil Engineering Advisory Committee and the Region C Water Planning Committee for Texas.
He has served as president of the Texas Municipal Utilities Association and the Tarrant County Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Fisseler has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M. He and wife Linda have two children, Stephanie and Ben.
