Adopt a Pet
Each year, more than 20,000 homeless or lost pets come through the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Center. Though many find happy, loving homes, more than 70 percent must be euthanized due to overpopulation.
Adopting a pet from the Animal Care and Control Center not only saves a life, but gives you a head start on responsible pet ownership. The center's animal adoption fee includes your new pet’s initial vaccinations (including a rabies shot) and city license tags.
Give gift certificates, not animals
Choosing an animal for someone else can be risky business.
Many pets given as gifts are returned to shelters or abandoned within two months because the new owners think the animals require too much care or they simply don't connect.
That is why Fort Worth Animal Care and Control offers gift certificates. Give a pet gift certificate to your loved ones, and they can choose the animal that is best for them at their convenience from the animal care and control center.
Certificates include the same benefits as normal pet adoption at the Animal Care and Control Center. Call 817-392-PAWS (7297) for more information.
