SUBJECT:   Adoption of Appropriation Ordinance Allocating Contractual Payment from Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services of Texas, Inc., to the Public Events Department Special Trust Fund in the Amount of $25,000.00

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council:

1.  Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by $25,000.00 in the Special Trust Fund from available funds; and

2.  Authorize the use of these funds as outlined below in accordance with the City's purchasing and expenditure guidelines.

 
DISCUSSION:

On August 25, 2005, (City Secretary Contract No. 32248) the Public Events Department, Will Rogers Memorial Center entered into a five-year contract with Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services of Texas, Inc., (Aramark) to provide food and beverage concession services at the Will Rogers Memorial complex. The contract is for a five-year term and includes five one-year renewal terms at the City's option.

Article 14 of the contract provides for Aramark to pay the City $25,000.00 per year during the term of the contract. These payments shall be placed in a separate fund and used for the purposes of improving concession operations, purchases of improvements or equipment and for the advertising, marketing and promotion of usage of City of Fort Worth Public Events facilities.

 
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:

The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the Special Trust Fund. The Public Events Department is responsible for the collection and deposit of funds due to the City.
