Adopt Ordinance Vacating a Portion of Southland Avenue Between Pulaski Street and Terrell Avenue for Future Expansion of Ronald McDonald House (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9)


RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council:

1.  Adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of Southland Avenue between Pulaski Street and Terrell Avenue; and

2. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City Policy (M&C G-15624).

 
DISCUSSION:

Dunaway Associates, LP, on behalf of The Ronald McDonald House, has requested the vacation of this portion of Southland Avenue to replat it with the adjoining property for future expansion of their building.  The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting on March 24, 2010.  An acceptable replat (FS-009-194) has been received.

The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting process. The City does not own land under or adjacent to the above referenced street.  Since no City funds have been expended to purchase property or easement rights, collection of the fair market value or any portion thereof is recommended by Staff to be waived.

This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.

The Financial Management Services Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
