Neighborhood Education and Outreach

The Neighborhood Education & Outreach Office — is part of the Community Relations Department — works directly with residents in the community, providing support and information for neighborhood associations as well as helping connect individuals to vital services.

Neighborhood Education

Neighborhood Education supports existing neighborhood associations, helps residents form new associations and facilities communication between residents and City departments.

Neighborhood Education offers presentations to neighborhood associations and community groups by request.

Outreach

Outreach helps connect homebound, elderly and other under-served residents with agencies that can provide assistance. Social workers and other Outreach staff make home visits (when needed) and work with City departments to provide information and determine eligibility for a variety of programs.

Clients are contacted based on referrals received from concerned residents, elected officials, City departments and other social service providers.
