Administration

Compensation, Classification & Civil Service

Responsible for administering the compensation plan, development of policies and benefits in the areas of classification, compensation, cilvil service testing and human resource policy development for city-wide implementation. Specific program areas that are administered by this division include maintenance of the classification system, compensation analysis, salary surveys, assessment development, civil service entry level and promotional test development, and policy development.

Benefits

Responsible for administering and coordinating the Group Health Benefit, Dental Insurance, Deferred Compensation, Life Insurance, COBRA, long-term supplemental insurance, flexible benefit plan, pre-paid legal services and other voluntary benefits.

Wellness

The workplace wellness program for the division is responsible for designing and implementing interventions that target risk factors which contribute to unhealthy life-styles and increased health care cost. responsible for community involvement activities and Work/Life issues.

Crisis Intervention Program

The City of Fort Worth Crisis Intervention Program assists employees in coping with stress resulting from a critical incident or crisis event . The program is comprised of employee volunteers who serve as peer support a distressed employee or work unit following a crisis or critical incident. Successful team membership is based on a formal application process and completion of required training in crisis intervention.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program provides guidance and direction to employees and their eligible family members experiencing a wide range of concerns. Whether one is facing a difficult personal matter, a family issue or a stressful work environment, the EAP is available to assist employees in meeting such challenges. These include: workplace effectiveness, stress, depression, personal relationships, child or elder care, absenteeism, and alcohol or drug dependency problems. There is no cost for this service and confidentiality is maintained in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. EAP services may be accessed by making an appointment for an individual session or through phone consultation. Drop-ins are received for employees in crisis immediately. Learning Services & Organization Development

The Learning Services and Organization Development Division serves the city by developing employees, strengthening dynamic leaders and facilitating the improvement of organizational effectiveness.

In addition to classroom education, the staff assists in strategic planning, individual career development, leadership/supervisory development, rewarding beneficial suggestions, teambuilding and improving work processes.

This division also works on projects such as United Way and staff recognition and incentives.

Occupational Health & Safety / Workers' Compensation

This division addresses all workers’ compensation issues for the City. These include, but are not limited to: reporting, tracking, City policy, dispute mediation. Safety is also handled by this division in all aspects for the safety of City employees.

Employee Relations

The Employee Relations Division administers the City's complaint resolution procedures for non-civil service employees. They also conduct investigations of alleged harassment, inappropriate conduct, and employment discrimination. We provide guidance and counsel on the City's disciplinary action policy, as well as, other City personnel rules and regulations.

HRIS / Records

The division is responsible for the maintenance of the Human Resources Information System, payroll interface, Human Resources database management and research, public information requests related to employees and official personnel files.

Disabilities Program 

This division administers and oversees the City’s employment of persons with disabilities initiative.

The Disabilities Program identifies employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities through various innovative programs and advocacy efforts.  The Program Coordinator participates on community leadership and action committees to network and partner with organizations and agencies that provide career development services to persons with disabilities.
