Mr. Anderson has been the CIO for the City of Fort Worth for about 30 months. As such he is responsible for the collaboration of all aspects of Information Technology-to provide the most efficient IT services to fellow employees, as well as ensuring the city’s IT infrastructure provides the best possible service to citizens. More specifically, to plan, direct, manage andoversee the activities and operations of the Information Solutions Department; to coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager, City Council and an AssistantCity Managers.He began working at the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), as its first CIO, in 2000 and created theDivision of Information Technology to partner with internal divisions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of COTA’s services to its employees and customers through innovative, quality technology solutions. This included internal IT operations as well as extensive efforts in the Intelligent Transportation Systems area-to put systems on vehicles for the public. Peter was also responsible for the Project Management Office, which implemented Project Management methodology throughout the IT Division, and expanded it to numerous other efforts in the authority.

He implemented several complex and successful software and hardware projects, including a system to track the location of all agency buses, matching them against schedules, a system that tracks operations, as well as extensive upgrades to COTA’s web site (to include an itinerary planning system) and the entire IT infrastructure at COTA.

Prior to joining COTA, Mr. Anderson served two years as the first CIO for the City of Columbus, Ohio. He established the Department of Technology to develop information technology management policy and procedures, identify opportunities to share resources, assessing and addressing the needs of the City’s IT workforce, developing and overseeing the implementation of uniform information resources management policies, principles, standards and guidelines while providing centralized data processing services to user departments and agencies-to make City government the most technologically advanced one in the U.S.

Peter served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years, his last four as the Director (Commander) of the Defense Logistics Agency Systems Design Center. Captain Anderson was responsible for an annual budget of over $130 million with over 1,200 associates to centrally design, develop, implement and maintain integrated automated information systems (AISs) in support of critical Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)/Department of Defense business functions, including an IT training program, providing technology support, advice and consulting services agency wide in data processing and telecommunication matters. Personally responsible for merging six disparate development organizations into one, including establishing agency standards for software development and agency operations.

Prior tours included two years as the Supply Officer of a large repair ship, where he was responsible for an annual budget of $10 million and 230 employees to provide automated supply and logistics support to make tended ships, as well as own ship, ready for sea. He implemented installation and integration of AISs including inventory management, financial management and transportation. He served two years as International Department Head Director with an annual budget of $35 million for developing, implementing and providing world wide automated support for Foreign Military Sales customers in acquisition, inventory control, financial and transportation management. Included several AISs-a complete supply management and acquisition system for one foreign country as well as a supply, inventory and financial management system for another foreign country. Prior to that Peter was the Business Management Director, in charge of implementing Business Process Improvement and TQL throughout the organization, including implementing methodology to track progress of efforts and produce metrics to measure results, as well as responsibility for all technology applications and several large mainframe test labs. As Department Head in Headquarters for two years Commander Anderson was responsible for Fleet Support and Supply Operations, including all afloat automated systems-for large and small ships, including development and integration of systems for supply, inventory and financial management, food service and ship store operations. As the Supply Officer for a large Refrigerated Stores Ship for two years he was responsible for all supply operations, including supply support to other ships. Involved in designing, and responsible for implementation of, the first afloat automated supply and financial system for small ships. Prior to that position Commander Anderson was the Program Manager in Headquarters responsible for managing over $3.5B annually over 16 major programs involving daily management, acquisition and life cycle support, including the two largest shipboard automation programs.

Pete and wife Donna, a Physical Therapist, live in Fort Worth and have two sons: Neil, a graduate of Williams College; and Karl, currently attending the Cleveland Institute of Art.
