A study done by Coopers & Lybrand in 1996 recommended expanding the Convention Center and development of a new Convention Center Hotel. Two subsequent hotel studies, one by CH Johnson Consulting and one by HVS International, each confirmed the need for an additional convention center hotel. In addition, numerous professional convention and meeting planners have written and spoken about the need for a new Convention Center hotel in Fort Worth. With the need for additional first class hotel rooms to remain competitive in the marketplace for conventions, the City of Fort Worth is pursuing the development of a Convention Center Hotel.
