Lancaster Corridor Initiatives
Ninth Street Improvements

The Ninth Street initiative focuses on pedestrian and streetscape enhancements to the Ninth Street corridor between Jones and Throckmorton Streets. Project components include sidewalk and crosswalk improvements, benches, street trees, grates, landscape planting, and pedestrian lighting. After connection of Fort Worth and Dallas by the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail in December 2001, Ninth Street became the most commonly used pedestrian transportation route between the new Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) and Downtown Fort Worth.
