Friends of the Fort Worth Public Library, Inc. is a non-profit membership organization which exists to improve the quality of life in the community by providing advocacy, funding, and volunteer services to the Library. The organization also serves as a conduit for organizations and corporations which are restricted from making donations directly to government entities.
The Friends raise money for non-budgeted items for the library through Book and Author events andĀ Book Sales.
The Friends Book Store
With 5,000 square feet of selling space, theĀ book store has selections in four departments; fiction, nonfiction, reference and children's. Like-new books are for sale, with several categories including fiction, mysteries, romance, history, science, gardening, cook books, Texana, humor, military and reference. Also for sale are CDs, videos, books on tape, and DVD's
The store is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays from 10 am - 6 pm; Saturdays from 10 am - 5 pm; and Sundays, 1 - 5 pm. Print this coupon for a $1 discount. The Book Store is located at 5332 Trail Lake Drive (in the Wedgwood Village Shopping Center, just off Granbury Road at Loop 820). Telephone is 817-346-2255.
If you would like to volunteer to work in the store, please call 817-346-2255 and leave your name and number for a return call. Volunteers are needed for all day shifts each day, as well as half day shifts on Wednesday through Saturday. There is a volunteer form to fill out, and there will be training sessions.
Membership in the Friends is available at several levels. As the only membership organization offering financial support to the library, memberships are very important. In addition, Friends members receive a 10% discount on all purchases at the Book Store. To join, please print this membership form and mail the completed form to the address on the bottom.

The Friends established and sponsor the Texas Literary Hall of Fame, a biennial literary event honoring Texas authors.
