After School Programs

Research has shown that the time period of highest risk for young persons is from 3 to 6 p.m. on school days. Our children's lives have changed dramatically over the last decade, but providing structured programs during these hours can make all the difference.

Children ages 5-13 years participate in after-school recreational, cultural and educational activities for five days per week.  Staff help the children complete their homework and learn how to interact with their peers. Staff track student grades, citizenship, completion of homework assignments and TAKS test scores throughout the program. Children use computer labs and learning centers to supplement their education.  Children participate in a variety of sports, games, and arts and crafts activities to build their self-esteem, develop teamwork and improve social skills.  Outside agency speakers are brought in to teach children about other opportunities and ways to handle difficult situations.  Each day a nutritious snack is provided.
