Camps
As you strive to provide your children the best foundation for success, the City of Fort Worth’s Parks and Community Services Department stands ready to meet your needs. Our professionally developed curriculum has been designed to enhance education, build leadership qualities, create self esteem and improve intellectual and social skills. Programs include cultural activities, fine arts, crafts, sports, fitness, and games. Each child receives individual attention in a warm and nurturing environment. Trained instructors create an atmosphere where positive experiences are the norm. We offer high qualitycamps in accordance with FWISD's school break schedule. Camps are located at all 19 Community Centers.
School Break Camps
School may be out, but the learning and fun doesn't have to stop! Camps are held when F.W.I.S.D takes the day off. Campers will be challenged to discover new skills and build friendships! Our Day Camp program is full of challenging and creative activities. It is guaranteed to put a smile on your camper's face. Camps are a good way for your child to have positive experiences on the days when they are not in school. Our professional staff will use highly developed curriculum. Lesson plans are ever changing but the inherit principles have stood the test of time. Be sure to sign up early because camps fill up fast. Camps are from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.,and campers will need to bring a sack lunch. There is before and after care available from as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m. Camps are available at all 19 City of Fort Worth Community Centers.
Camp Fort Worth
Camp Fort Worth is designed to ensure every camper a unique learning experience. Each day features a curriculum which combines varied activities and challenges, promising your child nonstop fun and excitement. Camp Fort Worth welcomes the individual talents and interests of each of our campers and always looks forward to providing an environment that nurtures growth through individual initiative, group challenges, sportsmanship and fun! Our staff has developed outstanding daily lesson plans with TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills)objectives as a guiding force. Camp Fort Worth is offered at 16 community centers throughout the city. We are not a licensed daycare but do adhere strictly to the Standards Of Care.
Camp 360
Camp 360 is a dynamic Summer Day Camp Program offered at 3 Community Centers. The program is held during the summer months, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 6:00pm for youth ages 5 - 13 years.Camp 360 is a "well rounded" experience that includes adventure, sports and life skills. Guest speakers, weekly field trips, swimming, obstacle courses, rock climbing, canoeing, orienteering, ultimate frisbee, basketball, volleyball, golf, cheerleading, gymnastics, baseball, cooking, arts, crafts, etiquette, and money handling are just a few of the things you can look forward to encountering at Camp 360. Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp
This program is a free, structured seven-week day camp program provided in an outdoor setting for children ages 5 – 14 years. The program is an effective collaboration with Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD) and utilizes schools in the area.It is offered during the summer months, Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Children begin their day at a city park and walk to a nearby school for lunch and afternoon activities.
A variety of recreational activities and fitness and athletic programs are offered during the morning. These activities teach children good sportsmanship, develop teamwork, and improve fitness. A free, nutritious lunch and afternoon snack is provided to each child. Afternoon activities include educational programs on fire safety and environmental education, cultural programs celebrating diversity, arts and crafts activities, indoor games and sports, and songs and drama. A variety of educational and recreational field trips are provided weekly. This program provides a supportive group for youth to increase self-esteem, encourage positive behavior, and build character and confidence in each child. The program is offered on the southside of Fort Worth at the following locations:
