JANUARY 2009

Citizen Forester Program
Deadline to submit applications is January 16.
Training classes run from January through May.

The Citizen Forester program presents a wonderful opportunity for individuals to become skilled at planting, pruning, and maintaining trees. It also provides interested persons with the chance to get involved with local city and county municipalities and help their community take care of its public trees. Among many other projects, Citizen Foresters will be capable of assisting with city tree inventories, training and pruning of newly established trees, measuring street trees for clearance, pruning crape myrtles on public property, mulching trees in public parks, and participating in city or county tree planting programs and tree give-away events.

Citizen Forester application deadline is January 12.  Learn more about this hands-on training/volunteer program.

For more information or if you would like to volunteer, please contact Melanie Migura via e-mail at melanie.migura@fortworthgov.org or phone 817.871.5739.
