be a volunteer: vocational forester help us "green" Fort
Worth
become a vocational forester
The Vocational Forester program is available to schools that are
willing to schedule a minimum of 6 sessions throughout the school
year. The dates & times are established between the school &
Forestry. Vocational Forester volunteers will receive hands-on
training & field work experience that goes more in-depth than the
Volunteer Forester program. Students will build upon what they
learn from the previous sessions.
Volunteer projects & locations will be determined based upon
need & projects. Some possible locations would include the
Rolling Hills Tree Farm,
local parks & neighborhoods.
Possible projects might be collecting seeds from trees in parks,
planting trees in parks or along neighborhood streets, watering &
mulching trees in parks, surveying park & street trees, conducting
nursery operations at the tree farm, or representing Forestry at
special events to educate the public about the importance of trees.
