Six Points Village

Six Points Village

This urban village is centered around the Race Street commercial center located where Race Street intersects with Riverside and Belknap Streets.  When the historic McAdams building was slated for demolition, the community rallied to find an investor and save it.  It has served as a catalyst for revitalization.  Newly designated in 2005, this village has already benefited from renovation of other existing buildings on Race Street.  The City Council has allocated $50,000 for planning and another $773,571 towards design and construction of streetscape improvements.  In addition, NCTCOG has awarded a $320,000 grant for streetscape improvements in the village.
