Committee Members Ask Fellow Residents To ‘Dream Big’

A committee of 20 residents representing Fort Worth’s diverse and dynamic communities is organizing Let’s Talk Fort Worth, a citywide conversation similar to those conducted in 1963 and 1992.

Chairman Dennis Shingleton, a longtime Fort Worth resident and assistant dean of Finance and Administration for Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, invited a diverse group of representatives from the business, education, nonprofit, faith-based and neighborhood communities to join the Let’s Talk Fort Worth committee.

Committee members are asking Fort Worth residents to share their ideas, suggestions and dreams to help shape the city’s future. Committee members are working together to plan and facilitate nine Time To Talk discussions before the citywide conversation on Sept. 25.

Scheduled throughout the summer, Time To Talk meetings will give committee members and residents an opportunity to discuss Fort Worth’s current challenges — everything from rapid growth and development to aging infrastructure, environmental concerns and educational issues.
