National Biosolid's Program, Environmental Management System Certification
(July 20, 2005)

The City of Fort Worth's Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is the first agency in Texas, and seventh in the country to obtain this national certification. The certification has tremendously benefited the city's biosolids program. Program outcomes include improvements in document management, communications, achievement of annual goals and objectives, training and improved public outreach.

The EMS Program was recertified at level four, the highest level, in July 2006.
