2008

Top Ops Challenge, 2nd Place in National Competition, 
The competition is a fast-paced question-and-answer tournament on a broad range of technical questions. Winning team members are Kathy Kyle, Gary Morris and Todd Burleson who have competed together since 2000.

Top Ops Challenge- 1st and 2nd Place at State, American Water Works Association (Texas Section) - Two Team Competing
       1st  Place - Fort Worth Price members Gary Morris, Kathy Kyle and team captain, Todd Burleson
       2nd Place - Tridents members
Khurshid Chowdhry, David Hinshaw and Paul John.

Pipe Tapping, 5th place, American Water Works Association (Texas Section) 
Teams compete for the fastest tap without any leaks. Outlaws Team members were Joe Cloud, Rick Heaslet, Tim Jackson, Eugene Kwan, Danny Martin and Leo Montemayor.

Watermark Award for Communications Excellence
       Annual Drinking Water Quality Report 
       Conservation and Reuse Award for the Gateway Park Soccer and Rugby Fields Program
       Meter Replacement Program Video, Honorable mention


WEAT Operations Challenge– 3rd Place, Water Environmental Association of Texas

Competition tests the diverse knowledge of operators in Laboratory, Collection Systems, Safety, Pump Maintenance and Process Control.  Team members were Donald David, Vallie Dunklin, Ginger Laird and Gary Piksie.

Best Tasting Drinking Water in Texas - 1st Place, American Water Works Association, Texas Section -
Awarded 
at the Texas Water 2007 Conference.

Golden Achievement Award for Partnership Excellence, Fort Worth Independent School District
Recognition of time, talent and resources given to support strategic activities and programs at Glen Park Elementary

Public Technology Institute's Sustainability Award, Automation of Laboratory Services Corrective Action Reports
Rewards PTI member governments who demonstrate technological improvements toward service delivery, reduced operating costs or creation of new revenue opportunities.

Texas Water Utilities/Pretreatment and Environmental Section, FILE Award to Buster Fichera
Award recognizes continuous, upcompromising efforts in the development, molding, casting and forming of the Pretreatment and Envronmental profession through leadership, innovation and a commitment to education and compliance.

The Top Ops competition tests water industry employees’ technical knowledge. Team members are Gary Morris, Kathy Kyle and team captain, Todd Burleson.

Competition tests the diverse knowledge of operators in Laboratory, Collection Systems, Safety, Pump Maintenance and Process Control.  Team members were Jason Brassell, Vallie Dunklin, William Duckworth and Gary Piksie, coached by Ginger Laird.

2006

Best Drinking Water in Texas–Third Place

National Association of Clean Water Agencies  (formerly AMSA) -Gold Award
Award honors 100 percent NPDES permit compliance for an entire calendar year.

Outstanding Municipal Operator of the Year awarded to Gary W. Burton,  Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT)

The award ispresented to a municipal wastewater treatment plant operator who has demon­strated outstanding professionalism at his/her facility and has performed his/her duties tirelessly and with dedication to the betterment of the water environment.  Gary has worked in the Water department since 1974 and is currently Operations Superintendent at the Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality -Total Coliform Rule Program Award 2005 (Awarded August 2006)
Award recognizes the effort, dedication and contribution to protect the state and citizens of Texas.
