Lake Worth Management Office 

The Lake Worth Management Office (LWMO) provides the following services to the public: 

  • Issue permits for installation of new or renovated on-site sewage systems (septic system) on city-owned leased lots and deeded lots around Lake Worth; 
  • Inspect installation of new or renovated on-site sewage systems; 
  • Investigate complaints regarding on-site sewage systems and other water pollution or environmental complaints in the Lake Worth watershed area; 
  • Issue lake use permits (boat stickers) for operation of private boats on Lake Worth. Permits are required by city ordinance for any boat with a motor or longer than 16 feet; 
  • Perform inspections of leased lot on-site wastewater systems and water wells for lease transfer and recommend to Real Property Management Office approval or disapproval of lease transfer applications; 
  • Collect water samples from individual water wells, deliver samples to laboratory and interpret laboratory results; 
  • Maintain an information file on each lot which shows data on wastewater disposal, drinking water supply and related information; and 
  • Install and maintain hazardous area and safety buoys and float markers throughout Lake Worth. Maintain the float and buoy warning line west of the Lake Worth spillway.
