9 Definitions

9.100 Use of Certain Words

For the purpose of this Ordinance certain terms and words are herewith defined as follows.

  1. Words used in the present tense include the future;
  2. Words in the singular number include the plural and words in the plural number include the singular;
  3. The word “building” includes the word “structure”;
  4. The word “shall” or “will” is mandatory, and not directory;
  5. The word “may” is permissive.
